"A-town's finest, I'm the top notch glamour chick."
One of the bona fide Atlantans, not a transplant. I bleed red & black, drink mint juleps in Savannah, and occasionally say "y'all."
But there's more to the capital of the South than rap music and farms. We used to grow cotton, but now we prefer to wear anything but. And just because we talk slow doesn't mean we drive that way. We still live life in the fast lane.
I love eating out, laughing with friends, shopping, and talking to strangers. But most of all, I love this city.
I just got back from Philly yesterday. I went to visit Li-li, who's up there for her internship with CBS. (You might see her on the local news if you're there!) It's a great place to be for the 4th of July, being the place where the Constitution was signed by the Continental Congress in 1776. However, I'm not a fan of American history, so I honestly could have cared less. But it was fun to see the parade and beautiful fireworks every night.

Summer feels like it's only just begun, but everyone is already getting ready for fall! I got an email from La Garconne today, highlighting some of the collections they're going to be carrying in the upcoming weeks and couldn't help but be super excited.
They plan on carrying Luella, Preen, Vivienne Westwood Anglomania, and LOVER! Although I've never bought anything from La Garconne, I love the pieces they pick and definitely see myself purchasing from them this fall. Can't wait 'til the leaves start turning brown!
P.S. I got a new job. (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) And a hefty raise.

Today is the Euros final (Spain v. Germany) as well as a bon voyage party for my aunt+uncle+cousin Yoorim, who are relocating to Philly. Double duty day.
I grabbed this romper @ the French Connection sale, which works perfectly for today. I can run around Fado Irish Pub for the game and drink a pint or two before heading to Jang Soo Jang for dinner with the entire fam.
I finished it off with my fantastic floral wedges and then a pair of flower earrings to take away from the utility look & color of the romper.

I bought this necklace from Forever 21 about a year ago, and just now have started obsessively wearing it. Do you do that? It's not uncommon to have things sitting in my closet for a year or two before I started wearing them NONSTOP, almost everyday for about two months straight.

And they came! So excited & can't wait to wear them... except Atlanta is so sticky right now. :(
It's no secret that "Pretty in Pink" is one of my favorite movies. There's nothing better than Molly Ringwald, the turmoils of high school, and a hot boy in a BMW named BLANE. So when I saw these shoes from Dolce Vita on sale for $29.99, I just HAD to get them...
They remind me of the ones Duckie wore in my favorite scene - the one where he lip syncs to "Try A Little Tenderness" in the record shop. I love that part!
Unfortunately, my life isn't as half as exciting as my new favorite song, Katy Perry's "I Kissed A Girl." I've been spending the past few days in Athens, GA, watching the Euros and just being an all-around hermit. I'm kicking myself for not going to Zurich for the Euros this summer. I could be grabbing Ronaldo's ass right now!
But back to Katy Perry. It's so funny that this song came out now when all I've doing for the past few weeks is going around telling people that I would definitely be interested in making a sex tape with Cheryl Cole (nee Tweedy). If there's one girl who would ever turn any straight girl into a lesbian, it would be her. Is there someone else you would go lesbo (or gay) for?
I accidentally left my camera with the GBF when he was dogsitting for the woman who owns Spa Sydell. It'll be a few days until I get it back. Vegas was... interesting. There will be a photo entry on that later.
For now, here's what I've been doing lately... lots of Jane Austen & Smart Water. (Electrolytes are delicious!)
I dropped by Drew Lewis yesterday and picked up a dress by Sass & Bide. I completely forgot that I'm supposed to go to Las Vegas tomorrow for a jewelry show and thought it would be go perfectly (as well as fit perfectly into my whole "vampire" theme come fall). It's made out of this polyester material that pretty much repels all liquids, which works perfectly for me as I'm a magnet for spills. Expect lots of outfit pics in a few days.
I also got some of the lowdown for some of the designers they'll be sure to carry come fall, and I got really excited for this one designer called Daughters by Obedient Sons. Their look for the fall is "Holden Caulfield starting a punk band," according to style.com. Here are some looks that I liked:
I also got this very beautiful pin in the mail today. After reading Professionally Trendy's entry on steampunk, I ended up seeing some of Rivkasmom's work on Etsy. The next thing I knew, I had fallen in love with this pin. It came beautifully packaged with a little organza pouch. I can't wait to wear it to Vegas!
Last weekend, I went to see Sarah Chang perform at the Atlanta Symphony with my mom and cousin. To be perfectly honest, I'm not a huge fan of going to classical concerts. I don't see the difference between hearing her play live and listening to her play on CD in my car. It's not like I'm going there for the atmosphere, to dance around, or anything physical. You just sit in a chair with other pretentious or psuedo-intellectuals and pretend not to fall asleep.
Needless to say, the highlight of my evening was going to French American Brasserie (FAB) for dinner. I also enjoyed wearing my mini bubble dress that I bought in Korea at this little boutique in Insadong. You can't see from the picture (which my cousin took - I yelled at him for not getting my shoes), but it's got the most adorable embroidery detailing in traditional Korean silk patterns.

Yes, I have a major girl crush on Cheryl Cole nee Tweedy. I would totally go lesbo for her and tape the whole thing. Maybe I would even leak it on the internet afterwards just to stroke my own ego.
In other news, I had a major shopping spree. I love buying things from Net-A-Porter because it comes so nicely packaged. I've decided that I want to look like a vampire, so I bought this Anna Sui dress:
I've also been sweating almost everything on the Acne Jeans website, so I ended up caving and buying this from Revolve Clothing:
The back is really amazing. I love it so much. So comfy. I'm backlogged for entries, so I'll be spending the Memorial Day holiday catching up on old posts. Check back later this weekend for more updates!
