Today's been the fourth (and last) day of intense shopping before LA. I had so many stuff to buy! I normally like going shopping: walking through the center of the city, looking at clothes in stores... but four days? Seriously, I wouldn't have another day like those in a long time.
Do you know when you've got to buy something because you really need it? When you've got to find no choice because you can't go back home without it? You're looking for something specific...
That's when you never find it.
During months you've been visiting stores and spotting things you want to buy... and when you go for them, SURPRISE, nothing left. Also, sales just started and the few good things that are left in the shops (GUESS) are not in your size. It's too hot outside, the streets are so crowded and the moment you HAVE TO go shopping, you don't want to
So I have finally recieved information about which family I'll be staying with in California. Apparently, it looks like I was lucky... I googled my house and with the Google Maps StreetView thing I was able to see it... looks nice! :]
Anyway, I've never been there, so I don't quite know what I'm facing... My home will be located in Monrovia, around 30 minutes from West Hollywood. I can't see if that's good or bad; here, distances are so short that half an hour seems a lot, but as I've seen from other friends' houses, they're much further... like 1h 45 or something. So... does anyone here know something about Monrovia? I'd really appreciate any information, recommendations...
I've got so many things to do before leaving, so much to pack... and I'm exhausted today. I may write a longer post about this, but not now... I just had an intense day waking all over the city and the only thing I want is to sleep. xx
I decided to change the page look, to make it more summer-like... Also added a page for photos and another for videos. What do you think about it? :)
And well, I'm soooo bored today. Nothing much to do, as it's Sunday (for me Sundays are the laziest days. Let me show you how I spend my time...
Sleeping till lunchtime... what a mess btw.
This is where I sunbathe at midday... so peaceful.
And having a swim in the pool, something I haven't taken picture of. Today my camera died, luckily, nothing that cannot be fixed: just the battery that isn't working or charging anymore. I must get a new one as soon as possible.
Yesterday I met with a friend at the pool before lunchtime, then went to a restaurant with the family to celebrate my cousin's birthday; she's now 12 and plays tennis like AWESOME. She almost became champion at some club today. I can't imagine myself doing that... I'm just so not sporty.
And after eating I went to R's house where they were hosting her young brother's party which we had to babysit (aahh things you make for friends). Imagine haha. 20 12-year-old kids totally ashamed to dance... we had to dance ourselves to help them xD There was also one poor girl alone with all the boys, cause all her girl friends had left her... Anyway, we had some nice food and laughed a bit with a friend that came too.
The rest of the week has been basically the same: summertime at the pool/beach. But well, I'm leaving in 10 days, so I must get active soon.
By the way, Spain just won the EuroCup!:D Football is something I'm not much into, but it was 44 years since we last won something... and the main reason why I've just spent 2 hours watching the final on TV... look at Spain's goalkeeper, Iker Casillas <3
With Kirsten Dunst, Jason Schwartzman, Rose Byrne, Judy Davis, Rip Torn, Asia Argento, Marianne Faithfull, Aurore Clément, Guillaume Gallienne, Clementine Poidatz, Molly Shannon, Steve Coogan, Jamie Dornan.
I really LOVE the movies by Sofia Coppola I've seen so far (this one and The Virgin Suicides). Both have this unique spirit, maybe because of the filming, the palette of colors, the light... that's something I'm always looking at, the feeling each scene gives you. If you see Marie Antoinette you notice how beautiful every detail of every scene is, how every color matches with the rest... it's complete eye candy!
The film shows us the luxury atmosphere they lived in Versailles at that moment, but still has a modern touch that makes it enjoyable and also gives more realism to the characters; both Marie Antoinette and Louis were teenagers, and that's something Sofia reminds us using The Strokes in the soundtrack or including Converse sneakers as a fun wink (watch the I Want Candy video underneath and see).
Anyway, this doesn't even get to describe the film, I highly recommend it, you should all watch it! :)
This Monday I had this 5h shopping trip with Ch, getting all we need before travelling to LA (and speaking of, just 15 days to leave!). It was really hot outside, and those 5 hours left me completely exhausted! Anyway, that night it was the San Juan Bonfires party, and though I couldn't make it to be the beach, I stayed around with R.
Tuesday morning I was with R still, and then went to the pool for a couple hours to get some tan. No success.
Today I had arranged to go to the beach with some friends, but I totally slept over and woke up when one of them called. I'm sooo stupid haha. So there was no beach for me today. Instead I spent the day in my huge room makeover. That means emptying it, doing major cleaning and painting the walls. I'm so tired now, but almost finished. I'll try to post a picture of it when it's all done.
And tomorrow I'm supposed to go to the beach. This time for real.
And here a couple of pictures R and me took.
I found an awesome camera in an old box, such a great discovery. (:
Friday after school we all stayed at my place to refresh in the pool and celebrate the start of summer. First we went for a walk and bough some drinks, had some lemonade and horchata (typical here).
Then, when A arrived (last, as always) we left for the pool. Again, I was in the water with clothes on (but this time they pushed me). We stayed there till the janitor came and said we couldn't be there so late in the night. Bah.
So we went home, made some pizzas and ate lots of ice-cream. Around 1 a.m. we called a friend who hadn't been able to come, and then called some guy from my friend's school pretending to be another person. Poor guy was a bit drunk and he didn't understand anything... I feel sorry for him. x)
Saturday morning my sister woke everyone up when she was trying to make the cat have a bath, so we had breakfast and returned to talk in bed. We're so lazy sometimes. Then A left and Angie went home (she lives next door) to get I-don't-know-what. That leaves R, M, Ch and me at my back garden speaking about our summer plans.
M went today to Germany for a week, then all July to the beach in Benicassim. So I won't be seeing her till 15th August earliest.
R is leaving for London in 10 days for a month. She's coming tonight and then we'll meet for sure next Saturday, maybe more days this week.
Ch is coming with me to LA all July, and then August to Benicassim as well.
And I am going toLA in two weekstill the 5th August, then to Milan and Switzerland from the 8th to the 15th and then with my dad (I hope just home)
Saturday afternoon Ch and I went to some kind of foam party (that normally consists of water everywhere and it's usually fun in summer). But this was completely lame. Really. One hour and a half of waiting to get in, then it was all so crowded we couldn't even move, incredibly hot and -guess- no foam or water. Anywhere. Let's not mention the water slides there were supposed to be (water slides? are you kidding me?). So we left and went to a shopping center nearby. At least it was cooler there.
Sunday I slept. Like half of the day. Then had a major room cleaning and tidied my closet to see what I need to buy before leaving.
Thank you! I'm doing great. I've been playing with kittens. My cat had 6 and they are the cutest things I have EVER seen. haha How have you been lately?
