Al Gelato
Al Gelato
Right down the street from my work there is this incredible little Italian restaurant/Gelato spot that amazingly I had never stumbled upon until last week! I took a walk down there and was very happy to see they had a large selection of dairy-free options, most importantly a chocolate dairy-free option that tastes just like brownie mix! SO good. Al Gelato is the spot and you have got to try it. It's on Robertson a few blocks south of Wilshire. The waitstaff is really friendly and the food always smells great too, but I've only had the gelato.

On my first visit I had the diary free chocolate with strawberry which was very good. The strawberry was packed with flavor and little bits of real berries. And the chocolate had an incredible rich chocolate flavor that was just right, not too strong, not too sweet. The second time I went down there I had the chocolate again with coffee crunch (not dairy free). The coffee crunch was delicious; rich coffee flavor with little bits of chocolate and some other chunks of something I couldn't quite discern, but it tasted good : ) It's $4.50 for 2 flavors which is very reasonable for gelato I'd say. This place is fantastic because it tastes like gelato you would find on the streets on Florence on a hot summer day. Perfect for the hot upcoming summer days in LA. Plus they let you sample as many flavors as you want!

And if by some chance you don't know what gelato is, click here to find out.

Easter is next weekend so I thought I should give you guys a few ideas for meal options. I've put together some of the best recipes I could find to create the perfect Easter feast. These are directed at the intermediate level chef : )

The feast includes:

Tangerine-Glazed Easter Ham with Baby Carrots

Garlic-Roasted Asparagus

Scalloped Potato Gratin

Buttermilk Biscuits with Butter and Honey
OR for an easy non-homemade alternative for Biscuits, you can try Grands Buttermilk Biscuits. Make sure you serve with the butter (room temperature) and honey on the side.

Hi, I'm Nicole, also known as the Kitchen Goddess. Why the name you ask? Well, although I have no "formal" experience in the world of food, I like to think of myself as something of an expert. I mean, hey, we can't all be born with extremely advanced palates that are able to pick up the slightest hint of flavor. So, I've decided to speak up for those who are well, taste bud challenged. These are my picks for tasty places to eat and the not-so-tasty places you should never bother with! If you have a recommendation, send it on over. I'd love to hear your feedback, so post a comment!
