First of all, I have always been keenly aware that art is a way to heal. I do my "Cosmos" series to calm and center myself as a form of healing. This work tends to help center other people also. Here is an image of a "Cosmos" piece.
I have seen art bring many different types of people and cultures together as a way to create a sense of community. Building community in a positive way certainly has a healing effect.
This idea of utilizing a hand-made Duct-tape wallet began to take affect with me almost as soon as Haydn and I began discussing it.
I am interested here in not only the healing aspect of a global art project but also to understand why we specifically remember interactions that happen with these wallets.
Haydn Shaughnessy and I just started "One World Wallet" a global arts initiative where you participate in making the art. If you decide to join, you get a great looking hand-made duct-tape wallet and it has a cod on the inside flap allowing you to participate in the blogs with pics, video and text. I will be utilising this information to kae a series of artists book with this collaboration.
