| a little biographie: |
Carol Es is a self-taught artist and native Los Angelina born in 1968. She worked as a pattern cutter in the apparel industry as a kid and later establish herself as a musician, artist and writer. Her artwork includes paper collage, garment patterns, handmade books, pins and thread, and her own written prose. Her paintings and artist books are included in numerous private and public collections including UCLA Special Collections, the Arthur and Mata Jaffe Collection at Florida Atlantic University, and was recently purchased by the J. Paul Getty Museum’s Research Library. She is also a recipient of The Artists’ Resource for Completion Grant from the Durfee Foundation, The Artist’s Fellowship in New York, a Vermont Studio Center fellowship, and is represented by the George Billis Gallery in Culver City, Los Angeles.
