'Kijke kijke nie kope' - is a phrase merchants in many South European and North African countries use when the Dutch scour their market goods, it is Dutch and means 'Looking looking, no buying' It is a mixture between an invitation (come buy my stuff) and an insult (you cheap Dutch, you never buy a thing) Thanks for your comments on my shots, I'll be posting even more the next couple of days!
Hi Devika, hope you're allright!? I've added some bw shots and would appriciate your comments! Cheers, Johan (who's never seen an Bollywood movie, yet...)
Hello Devika.....Thank you for the praise on my photographs. I have a ton of photos that I still have to scan too. Your photos are quite good too, i enjoyed then very much.
Now that I've finally worked out this photoblog thing
Or think that I have..
I hope that i'll be posting a few glimpses of my life here
like this...
and this
which are some photos that i took at a party recently.
i went to see it yesterday. i didn't mind it and i quite like nicholas cage although that was the part that put off most people. the plot was alright. nothing extraordinary. but entertaining. it was fun to watch. "god save the queen" haha
anyway.. i did mention earlier that i took a few photos when i went to bombay in december. so here you go. the little digital camera was pocketed and carried random places. the other one is still sitting in the cupboard gathering dust.
and so here are a few glimpses of my life
we were on the train for a long time. and very thirsty. this is how much water we had for quite a while
and it was hot hot hot.
he was the little boy in the next compartment.
and then there was nothing to do so i looked out of the window. i've never travelled for 24 hours by train so it was an interesting experience.
and
were some of the sights that we all saw.
and we took turns sitting at the window
to see factories whizzing by
and then we stopped.
and some of us ate oranges.
and i watched him peddle his books.
he must have been surprised to see a hand sticking out of the window.
and he just sat funny.
meant to post more but i have to go out now so bombay part deux (the actual visit and not just the train) will come soon. i just wanted to share the things that i saw over that one week.. nothing spectacular in terms of photography.. just glimpses of things passing by.. hope all is well with everyone out there!! cheers!
Hi Devika, nice shots! I will be travelling to Utrecht, Holland tomorrow, by train as well. At first I wasn't considering bringing a camera (it's work, travelling with collegues, blâh) but you have convinced me: i'll bring my camera and shoot the trip. The boy in the shot is my son, who turned 7 last week. See ya! Johan
