'Kijke kijke nie kope' - is a phrase merchants in many South European and North African countries use when the Dutch scour their market goods, it is Dutch and means 'Looking looking, no buying' It is a mixture between an invitation (come buy my stuff) and an insult (you cheap Dutch, you never buy a thing) Thanks for your comments on my shots, I'll be posting even more the next couple of days!
Hi Devika, hope you're allright!? I've added some bw shots and would appriciate your comments! Cheers, Johan (who's never seen an Bollywood movie, yet...)
Hello Devika.....Thank you for the praise on my photographs. I have a ton of photos that I still have to scan too. Your photos are quite good too, i enjoyed then very much.
Oh wow It's really been a while I had a christmas post all lined up and then i had problems putting in photos so i gave up. and well... christmas is long gone now. i hope all of you had a warm and jolly winter (or summer for anyone who lives down under).. i know i did.
except it was a tad too busy. i've never had a tree (although i've always wanted one) and never had big family gatherings and people don't come over to open presents on the 25th. it's just not a festival that my family celebrated. but i love december. and feel fairly bleak when january arrives.
yes i know, im a terrible person. who's been on holiday and still been too lazy to update. maybe it's just a lack of things happening. interesting things i mean. what's new here... hmmm... i'm trying to decide whether i should volunteer myself for spending a year doing my masters in freezing england or whether i should stay here for year and work. so applications are currently in the offing and for any of you who are thinking of applying anywhere, the personal statement is a bitch.
So I know that I signed up here a relatively long time ago and I've been extremely inactive but hopefully that's about to change. It's not the sort of thing that I should start thinking about when I'm right in the middle of finals. Then again, I think of anything and everything when I have finals. Never mind the work that I have to do. Or the fact that these are the grades that will go on my transcripts. It's college. Enough said.
