WANDERINGS

Last week my friend Blair bumped in his production "Decaf" a VCA project for his degree Theatre Production. "Decaf" plays on the movie "coffee and cigarettes" and as cost had to kept as a minimum he asked me to design and draw a cafe scene on to the theatre wall for his set design. We worked into the evening on it and it ended up being a lot of fun.

It was early morning after a massive storm and everything looked alive and fresh. I am very lucky to live here.

My friend Larissa just moved into a new house with two men. Ones an Engineer and the other is a scientist. I helped her move...ie managed to somehow fit a queen size bed IN (not on) her 4 wheel drive. We then cruised up Melbourne's main lapping strip (chapel st) with a car fit to burst.

Here are a few photos of the things i found lovely about the boy's house.
floral mugs and glass wear
poker and beer ....and a lovely table cloth
The only ornaments in the house

I haven't been posting much in a while. I've come to the end of my holiday and on monday return to my 20hr a week intensive engineering degree. There has been a lot of sadness around with unexpected deaths and illnesses and i can say that the start of 2008 has been quite humbling, but time with friends and excursions on my days off have offered so much comfort.
These are just 3 photo's that were taken of collections over the past few weeks. As i've said I haven't been taking many photos so don't have much to show for my time away but I've finally climbed out of the hole and got back on the horse.

So I like bridges lots because i study engineering. This bridge "Kingsway" apart from being red has its own rhythm. As cars drive over the steel segment dividers a deep drumming noise is made by the car wheels. As traffic varies you get some awesome natural beats raining down from above.

This add campaign for the free cervical cancer injections is positive and is a really good government policy but i can't help but laugh how glamorous these women look after it. In the aftermath you feel like you've been hit with a plank of wood and i have been sleeping most of the day. The fluid is denser than your blood and you can really feel it dispersing into the blood - creepy.

Isn't it funny how we all get uncomfortable at the idea that people might now who and what we really are. Even down to our homes, the way we franticly clean and buy ridiculous ornaments from ikea to create an image of ourselves.
I woke up this morning knowing that i am spending all day at home as its going to be 40 degrees and no one deserves to face that (bloody global warming). So I find my self faced with a day with nothing to do but then again apparently a lot of house keeping tasks. i.e. washing sheets, mopping clearing cupboards....you name it.
So as i was lying in bed as the sun rose and the temperature rises and i was adamant i wasn't going to move, i looked around and i see that my room has got quite epically unorganized and i tremble at the thought of someone seeing how i really live...but then i thought stuff it. If i publish the photos on the net than the secret is out and it really isn't all that bad after all.

If you feel like you want to be part of the "Exposure" Project, post your own blog and let me know about it.

If you do wanna get into it please don't stage the photo's it ruins the honesty and the purpose of it and you'll get some real accidental gems, like my soldiers.
