ARTIST STATEMENT
My abstract paintings are concieved of memories and detailed figments of my past which fit like puzzle pieces into my artistic path toward tomorrow. My love for the ocean and its aesthetic beauty further drive my visions. My primary medium is watercolor, which through layering and controlled brush work, allows for transparency. The use of color is significant because I choose colors that may or may not necessarily relate to seascapes in order to establish an unconventional yet engaging vision. I also incorporate chance within my work through dripping and or splattering of paint combined with drawing. My intention is to create a diversion from the inherent romanticism of the traditional seascape and introduce an ethereal and surreal vision.
