thanks beeb! i find that funny ... my nickname in my family when i was a kid was "bibi" pronounced "beebee!" hi back from toronto! finally some nice weather here ... about time!
AHBAHAHAHHA :) was just reading your page and thought id say hi ahaha. ps i love the line "charger for all the above" its so true... lol anyways whats up?
ahaha what's so funny? i'm glad someone appreciates that line. :) everything's good ... just got home from a friend's house and finished doing laundry. i love how i can wear jeans and a tshirt and not be cold! ahh ... summer is upon us!
my friend vanessa used to say her cat was "loafing" because she looked like a loaf of bread and then found out that it was actually called the "loaf position"
annnddd i just lost another entire blog post JUST before i was about to save it.
i can't stand this fucking blog shit sometimes ...
the title isn't referring to me physically - but i'm going to be traveling to europe for most of july which i'm so excited for! i will be living with my cousin benji, who i get along with really, really well, in milan for about a week before driving down to budapest for the rest of the vacation! i plan on doing a series of portraits on black and white film of my family members - most of which i haven't met yet! and it will be interesting to see my grandpa again. i haven't talked to or seen him since i was very very young. it will be interesting for sure ... and i'm glad i speak hungarian fluently because it would be so fucking hard to communicate without it.
anyways ... i guess i'll do this chronologically.
i shot nelly again a few weeks ago ... probably longer - and i was happy when i saw that hello used three of my photos and that one was on the front page! that was a bitch to shoot because at 1000 iso and f/2.8 i was shooting at 1/30s ... it was for "earth hour" so they really only had candle lights. nice ...
i'm trying to figure out how the hell i'm going to post the 218 photos i selected from this season's fashion week in a blog. film, digital, i shot a lot ... someone asked me if i liked this one better than last season's and i told them i was trying to figure that out myself the entire week and after it was done - but i'm really not sure. it was a totally different experience.
i mean, last season, which my friend leonard and i were reminiscing about, was like 5 months ago. where did those 5 months go?? and again, i'm so happy i was able to shoot there last season and then again this season ... i mean, even less than a year ago, i would not have thought i'd be at fashion week. in fact, i don't even think i knew that it existed in my city.
but last season ... 5 months ago - i was 17 ... and i was so excited to be there. my friends were all like "dude, how the fuck did you get in to that (referring to it being all 19+) ... you lucky bastard!" i had pictures in my head that i wanted to see and record and i was so happy to have the chance to do it. and having an ALL ACCESS sticker on my media pass because i was one of the house photographers shooting for "the man" helped me get to where i needed to be in order to be able to capture those mental images on to light sensitive material or a combination of 1's and 0's.
it seems like yesterday when i finished shooting my first fashion week ever ... but it was actually in october. but, i'm back doing it again and i'm so stoked! especially cause the weather's a bit nicer and it's cool to see familiar faces from last season and not be a total stranger to everyone.
i've been shooting lots ...
lots of stuff with the band ...
and it was only day 1 of fashion week today but it was hectic, amazing, fun, surprisingly not as stressful as i thought, and just wicked to be back ...
i'm going to do another long post with pictures at the end of the week but here are a few ... i shot a canadian supermodel named coco backstage for about an hour which i think will be used by l'oreal ...
some runway ...
this girl really reminded me of mischa barton ...
and some mood pictures ... or atmosphere. this is from fashion tv - which i think i'm on since i was shooting behind the camera for most of the interviews. i had two of my friends call me last season saying "arthur, were you wearing a bright orange shirt during fashion week shooting against a white wall? cause i'm pretty sure i saw you on fashion tv." ahaha.
i'm honestly so excited for this week ... today was much less stressful than i thought it would be and it was cool to see some people i got to know and become friends with a bit from last season ...
