I had my 2nd "Yart" Sale (that would be art in the front yard) on Saturday. The intention was to make my neighbors aware of my 2006 series of Mar Vista dovecotes (the fake birdhouse motifs on 50's ranch homes)...
My new art goes up @ TAG this Wednesday, May 21 Come hear me talk about it that evening: 6-8pm Three of us are "conversing" I'll be on first, so sneak out of work early...
Artists' reception is Sat, May 31, 5-8pm
Here's the TAG blog about it: http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=189955156&blogID=396027801&Mytoken=F998E04A-E431-45F5-90E3D72F0E005653113116245

I am obsessed with the gravel pit that I see from the 605 on the commute home. In addition to taking way too many photos while driving, I observed bicyclists on a raised trail that skirts the San Gabriel River and goes under the freeway.
I researched online and got a LA bike path map and... walked.
You'll have to wait for the pit images, but walking under the freeway at sunset was very cool.
