I spent a week exploring Siem Reap and the temples at Angkor in September, 2006 while on a two month backpacking trip in Southeast Asia. The town of Siem Reap offered more than most of the cities I visited. The incredible food, the ruins at Angkor, and children wandering the streets gave me a real glimpse at what life is like in that part of the world.
